But this is a brilliant guide to the software and how you can use it alongside Photoshop and material design to create brilliant flat layouts with ease. Some web designers also want to create their own icons from scratch. And thanks to this free video that process is super easy.

You can design custom food icons inside Illustrator and use them however you like. The tutorial runs about 20 minutes and teaches a variety of icons tyles. This is perhaps the most pragmatic icon design tutorial in this list. If you learn to design vector icons from scratch you can apply those techniques to anything. Do they go over every tool in the toolbox? Not even close. My students are so smart, they want to know how to use the gradient mesh by week two.

Do they cover that here on the DVD? They talk about colors generally, but do they cover the eyedropper and how to use it with the gradient mesh? Is this the most powerful way to create seamless amazing vector art? There are some marvelous tutorials on youtube that I refer my students to. Illustrator is such a wonderful application, but there are so many things they need to update.

CS6 has some good changes and some not so nice ones. Please Adobe, listen to your users. We've got lots of ideas for improvement. This is a good DVD, but just not as much covered as I'd like to see. Love it. Have had it years!

The other lady instructor has heavy English accent and to fast and I have to play over and over again and her accent and tone of voice is very irritating so I have to ship her.
